A beautiful weekend in the Yarra Valley requires a luxury accommodation setting and Chateau Yering does not disappoint.  The Chateau Yering historic homestead was reborn in 1997 as a wonderful 5 star property.  It’s located about 90km east of Melbourne City and is in the heart of the Yarra Valley and only minutes from over 70 vineyards and wineries.  Chateau Yering contains 32 individually decorated luxury suites with exquisite marble bathrooms.

We were booked into The Garden Suite.  The room was luxurious with 38 square meters of space, just perfect for having a small child in the room.  The hotel room was fitted with a marble bathroom and a stunning claw-foot bath and separate shower.  We had our own private balcony overlooking the stunning gardens.  I really enjoyed the extra touches in the bathroom especially the heated towel rack.

We were booked in for dinner at Eleonore’s Restaurant, which is a gorgeous fine dining restaurant located on the property featuring Yarra Valley’s freshest produce.  The restaurant menu is designed by Executive Chef Mathew Macartney.

Now I must say at this point that we did bring our darling 2 year old daughter and she did not put on her best behaviour.  The staff at Eleoneore’s restaurant especially Kelly, did a wonderful job of helping to keep our daughter entertained so we could experience and indulge in Chef Mathew Macartney’s wonderful mouth-watering masterpieces.  Thank you so much Kelly, you really did make the situation a lot more relaxing for us.

I would absolutely recommended Chateau Yering for a romantic getaway or a girl’s weekend.  We did take our daughter with us and although the historic homestead is children friendly, I would honestly recommend that you need to leave them at home or with a babysitter for this one, otherwise it’s hard to enjoy the beauty that this place really has to offer.

I would like to thank the Chateau Yering for hosting our stay and allowing my family and I to share this experience with you. As always, my opinions are honest and are definitely my own.
