The Punthill Apartment Hotel is located in the heart of Dandenong at 157 – 163 Lonsdale Street, Dandenong. The Hotel is conveniently located 35 minutes from Melbourne CDB via Monash Freeway or the new Eastlink. The Punthill is catered for professional business travelers and is set up with a fantastic conference venue and meeting or training rooms.

I approached the check in at the Punthill Apartments Dandenong on Friday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised when I walked in.  The reception area was very modern and stylish and was not expected from the street view of the hotel.  The reception staff was very polite and welcoming.

I was welcomed by Gareth Baird (The National Business Development Manager) and was taken on a tour of the Hotel and the facilities.  I found Gareth to be very well spoken, enthusiastic and excited to show me around the Hotel.  Gareth has been in his position for the past 4 years and overseas 13 properties.  His favourite part of his job is meeting new people everyday and working in the head office in South Yarra.

The hotel property features include gymnasium (small but very functional) , spa, secure parking onsite, onsite café/restaurant, guest laundry, Resident Manager and Conference facilities.

The Punthill was opened in 2009 and has 57 rooms.  The rooms are divided up between Studio Apartments, 1 Bedroom Apartments and 2 Bedroom Apartments.

The 1 and 2 Bedroom Apartments features a beautiful fully equipped kitchen with all amenities.  They both have spacious open plan living areas.  The rooms also have an LCD TV, DVD player, Foxtel and radio clock.  An important feature for the business traveller is internet. The rooms have access to High Speed Internet and have a great workstation desk to work at. Other features for this hotel includes ironing services, laundry facilities and reverse cycle heating and cooling.

The rooms are absolutely beautiful.  They are styled with a modern touch and are impeccably clean.  The King size bed looked so comfortable that you just wanted to jump in them and cuddle up.  Room rates start from approximately $155 for a studio, $175 for a 1 bedroom and $255 for a 2 bedroom depending on dates and availability.

The Conference venue is a versatile function space, catering for small and large events.  I was lucky enough to go while a wedding was being set up and it looked absolutely gorgeous.  There are 4 different rooms available and they can combine into 1 larger room depending on the numbers required.

Beletti Restaurant – Café – bar is the onsite restaurant and is a fabulous dining location.  The restaurant has  a modern Italian cuisine and was almost fully booked out for lunch which is a great sign.  The staff in the restaurant were very prompt with service and worked with a smile on their face.  My cocktail of choice was the Midori Illusion.

My entrée was the seafood sharing platter which consisted of coconut prawns, grilled calamari, seared scallops, fish and oysters Kilpatrick.  As I’m a huge seafood fan, the dish was absolute heaven.  My main meal was the grain mustard and herb marinated lamb loin, cooked to medium served on a pea and mint risotto.  The presentation was absolutely beautiful and it tasted just as a good as it looked. The hardest decision of the day was to turn down desserts as I was just too full from my entrée and main.

I truly recommend staying at the Punthill Apartments Dandenong for business or for pleasure.  It’s a fabulous venue and in a great location close to everything in central Dandenong.  Public transport is just a step away.  Please visit the links below for further information and bookings.
