Our recent trip to the Gold Coast, Queensland found us staying at the wonderful Q1 Resort & Spa. I have heard that once you stay at the Q1, you will forever be a guest. I wanted to see for myself what all the hype was about.

Q1 Resort & Spa is the tallest residential building in Surfers Paradise and boasts extensive ocean views from South Stradbroke Island to Tweed Heads. Our self-contained one bedroom Ocean Spa Apartment featuring 85 square metres of luxury living space was just what we needed with our 2 and a half year old daughter. The views from the apartment were just breath taking.  The open plan apartment provided plenty of space for her to run around and was just perfect with the modern gourmet kitchen cooking up snacks and meals when needed.

The resort facilities include two outdoor lagoon swimming pools and one indoor heated lap pool and spa. The fully equipped gymnasium with change rooms and male and female sauna and steam rooms are second to one. The resort features a unique opportunity to seclude yourself in sheer luxury as you soak up the Queensland sunshine.

The Q1 is centrally located and is 50 meters to the patrolled beach. It’s a short stroll to Cavill Avenue which hosts over 300 restaurants and boutique shops.

Hot Tips:

**If you are staying at the Q1 with other friends or family, make sure your rooms are on the same floor or at least accessible by the same lift. Otherwise you will spend a lot of time in the two lifts like we did.

**Take advantage of the washing machine and dryer in the apartment and do all your washing and drying before you leave. It saves you from doing it when you get home.

**Why not buy some meats and cook up a fabulous BBQ lunch or dinner down by the lagoon pool area. It’s great to relax there and take in the beautiful surroundings.

My overall stay at the Q1 Resort and Spa was really enjoyable. I would definitely consider staying there again as the facilities and rooms are fantastic. I would love to see the staff a little more friendly and welcoming on arrival and departure though. I know majority of people do NOT like their jobs, but come on, a friendly smile and a “Good Morning” really goes a long way when you’re on holidays.

I stayed as a paying guest at the Q1 Resort & Spa, and as always, my opinion is definitely my own.
