What’s a holiday to the Gold Coast without seeing the iconic Theme Parks?  First on the list, would definitely have to be Dreamworld.

Australia’s most popular theme parks, Dreamworld & WhiteWater World, are located in South East Queensland at the northern end of the Gold Coast, on the Pacific Hwy (M1) at Coomera, 17kms (20mins) north of Surfers Paradise and 48kms (40mins) south of Brisbane.  The main reason we decided to visit Dreamworld was to experience the new ABC KIDS WORLD which opened on June 27th 2015.  My daughter is just at the perfect age and loves watching the ABC Channel on TV at the moment. I just love hearing her sing “Bananas, in pyjamas, are coming down the stairs.”

ABC KIDS WORLD is a fun and interactive world of rides and games.  It features Giggle and Hoot, The Wiggles, Play School and Bananas in Pyjamas all in one place.  My daughter absolutely adored meeting Dorothy the Dinosaur and how will I ever forget her singing the Wiggles songs in the Big Red Car.  Those were just a few priceless moments.

Another children’s area is the DreamWorks Experience and is themed from the Shrek, Madagascar and Kung Fu Panda movie franchises. Featuring a number of kid’s rides and a family inverted roller coaster, DreamWorks Experience also plays host to the only live show at Dreamworld themed to Madagascar.

THE RIDES

There are so many rides at Dreamworld which caters for all ages.  From thrill rides, to adventure rides to family and children’s rides.  The best way to show you them is through my photographs.  I was finally brave enough at the end of the day to ride the Wipeout and WOW what an adventure that was.

THE FOOD

The majority of food available at Dreamworld is of the burger and chips variety, but in saying that, Dreamworld has recently undergone a food revolution.   The opening of Dough Bros Pizzaria incorporates made to order pizza’s with gluten free and vegetarian options.  They have also opened The Sandwich Shop that offers healthy options made to order sandwiches and rolls as well as salads and sushi options.  Green Bean Coffee Co. provides an array of healthy option café/deli style foods and Campos brand coffee.

There is an assortment of other takeaway foods available at vendors located around the park. Dreamworld does not allow visitors to bring their own food into the park unless it is for specific dietary requirements.  The Billabong Buffet Restaurant is a great sit down self-service restaurant with international foods available daily.

HOT TIPS

**Before you visit Dreamworld, please make sure you ring ahead to see what rides are closed due to maintenance or season, so you won’t be disappointed.

**The two biggest attractions at Dreamworld are the Giant Drop and the Tower of Terror ll. Both attractions are very popular and have very low capacity so ensure you head to these first.

**Take a towel and a change of clothes in case you get wet from the rides.

**Visiting with kids (as it was my first time) everything takes a little bit longer, rides, walking, eating, toilet breaks, so again, plan your day wisely.

**Prepare your day around the shows and Meet and Greets so you won’t miss anything.  Trust me, the day goes before you know it.

**Going in the off season was fantastic because the lines for the rides were very minimal, meaning we didn’t waste too much time standing around. BONUS..

**Take advantage of the FREE WI-FI at Dreamworld and upload all your happy snaps.

Overall, I had a wonderful day at Dreamworld with my family.  I didn’t get to go on as many rides as I expected too, but just watching my daughter have so much fun was all I needed to see.  Would I go back? Yes, in a heartbeat.

I would like to Thank Dreamworld for hosting my visit and as always, I would never endorse or recommend a service or product that I didn’t honestly enjoy!

I didn't see a post on Wet n Wild. Have you been? I heard it's great for the kids.
