Jurassic Creatures, featuring Prehistoric Creatures of the Ice is a fantastic interactive walk through event which is held under the big top at Harbour Town Docklands in Melbourne.

We were so excited that we decided to get there nice and early and lucky that we did, because the line to get in was enormous and I mean huge!  Once the doors opened at 10am, the line moved very quickly which was great for the little ones.

Most of the kids were eager to walk through the jaws of the T-Rex and take countless selfies, but my daughter, well she was quite nervous about the “angry looking huge dinosaur”, so we just entered through the normal doors instead.

What a sight when you walk in. It’s loud, its dark and has roaring dinosaurs everywhere.  You don’t know in which direction to look.  It’s such a fantastic experience to get up close and personal with these giant creatures of the past.

My daughter’s favourite part of the day was becoming a mini paleontologist.  She was provided a digger outfit and goggles (which she wore as an accessory) and was handed an egg. She was directed to sit at a table where she was given digging tools to extract her very own fossil. Very cool indeed.

The Dinosaur Train Live Show was next on the agenda and was a great hit for all the kids.  Buddy (T-Rex) and Tiny (Pterodactyl) danced and sang along and all the kids were up on their feet dancing away to Jim Henson’s Dinosaur tunes.

We then headed over to the jumping castle for a bounce to burn of some more excitement.

Hot Tips

** Make sure when you leave you ask for a pass out.  We actually missed the door to the rides (yes silly me) and walked out instead. We then tried to go back inside to go the rides and the lady at the door wouldn’t allow us to go back in.  I explained to her that we just walked out a minute ago, but she was very determined that because we didn’t get a pass out, we therefore couldn’t go back in. So we missed all the rides.  Very disappointing!

** Be aware that if you have young children or babies, that it’s very loud inside.  It’s bearable, but just very loud for those who have sensitive ears.

Overall we had a great time and my daughter couldn’t stop talking about all the adventures she had during her visit.  We were there for just under 2 hours and although I think it’s absolutely fantastic and an educational experience for the kids, I honestly think that the prices are a little bit expensive, especially for the adults.  Apart from the pricing, which is just my opinion, I still highly recommend it as a great day out for the family.

Thank you to Jurassic Creatures for hosting our visit and as always I would never endorse or recommend a service or product that I didn’t honestly enjoy!

**Prices are correct at time of post**
