The Butterfly House

The Butterfly House is heated to 28 degrees all year round and is home to hundreds of coloured native butterflies.  The Butterfly House has just recently gone under restoration that will help reduce environmental impact.  This was one of my favourite things to do at the Zoo and my daughter just loved looking at the butterflies floating around.

Elephants

The Elephant enclosure is absolutely spectacular. We were lucky enough to be there right on feeding time.  They held all he elephants in one area while they placed their food all over the enclosure and then let them all in one by one.  Mali (the baby elephant) was the first elephant calf ever born at Melbourne Zoo. She was born 16 January 2010.

Other Animals

There are so many other animals to go and see including Emus, Zebras, Tigers, Gorillas, Baboons, Lions, Bears, Penguins, Meerkats, Seals, Wombats, Bugs, Reptiles and Giraffes to name a few.

I will definitely be coming back to visit The Melbourne Zoo very soon when my daughter is a little older.  She had a fantastic time, and its such a beautiful place to visit with the family.
