I was lucky enough to attend the Sofitel Girls Day Out at Flemington over the weekend.  It’s been a while since I have attended the races and I was truly looking forward to it.

I always love a great excuse to get dressed up and what a glorious spring day Melbourne put on for it.

I was ready to experience the Hats & High Tea presented by Sofitel Melbourne on Collins on Saturday 13th September 2014.  It was to be held in the Panorama Restaurant and included:

* Racecourse admission

* Entry into Hats & High Tea presented by Sofitel Melbourne On Collins

* Racebook

* Savoury buffet prepared by Peter Rowland Catering at Flemington

* High tea sweet delights created and prepared by Sofitel Melbourne On Collins

* Cash bar for beverages

* Variety of tea blends and coffee

* Interactive millinery display

* Prizes and giveaways

* Parking in the VIP Car Park

* Covered seat in the Hill Stand to view the races

* Tote facilities and televisions within the room.

As I walked into the Panorama Room and noticed how amazing the room was set up, I knew I was in for a wonderful day.

The savoury buffet prepared by Peter Roland Catering was absolutely delicious.  Entrée was a selection of antipasto including cured meats, frittata and breads.  The buffet included roast turkey, roast leg of gold fields lamb, poached atlantic salmon, 5 spice tofu and a variety of vegetables.

The high tea sweet delights were created and prepared by Sofitel Melbourne on Collins.  I must say I did try every dessert (although I didn’t finish them all, well almost).  Desserts included Jaffa tart, lemon crème brulee, chocolate turron, berry cheesecake and chocolate fountain with marshmallows, strawberries, melon and pineapple.

The candy bar was also a fantastic treat.  It never fails for adults to act like kids when it comes to the candy bar.  Ok, well I might have packed more than 1 take home box too.  Sshhh!

I was also invited to do a guest interview on my blog for the day which was a great way to expose my Photography, Travel, Lifestyle blog to everyone there on the day.  Thank you to the host Bree Laughlin for making me feel at ease.  Please check out her website at www.breelaughlin.com

Also on display was a stunning collection of clutches from Mr. Hide and Co.

Beautiful handmade headwear by Jill from Jill and Jack Millinery

I must also comment on my outfit for the day.

Dress was from Forever New www.forevernew.com.au

Shoes were from Diana Ferrari www.dianaferrari.com.au

Head Piece from Bag Queen www.bagqueen.com.au

Photography Bag from Lei Momi www.leimomi.com.au

Overall I had a fantastic day at The Sofitel Girls Day Out and would thoroughly recommend booking a day out like this.  It’s a great experience to attend the races but even more enjoyable to do it in style with a fine dining package.

I would like to thank Eden for allowing me to enjoy this experience and share it with all my viewers.  I would also like to thank her for allowing me to expose my Photography, Travel, Lifestyle blog on the day in the live guest interview. Thank you Eden.

Although I was a guest at The Sofitel Girls Day Out, my opinion as always,is my own.

I hope you all please check out the following link to see what events are coming up at Flemington.  Hope to see you at the races!!
