Are Bucket Lists Overrated??

If you don’t live your days by personal goals and plans, chances are you spend most of your time caught up in your everyday routine.

Ever feel like the days are just passing you by?  Have you accomplished anything in the last 2 months that you wanted too?  Do you have any upcoming goals in the next couple of months?  Do they mean anything to you if you die today? Having a bucket list reminds you of what’s really important so you can act on them.

I have been thinking about a bucket list for a while now and finally decided to jump on the band wagon and put one down.  Whether you think they are overrated or not, I think it’s a great way to be accountable to complete some of those experiences in life that you have always wanted to accomplish.

I’m sharing my personal bucket list in hopes of sparking others to do the same.  I would like to see how many of these I can complete in the next three years so stay along for the ride. In no particular order, they are:


Go scuba diving / snorkelling and experience marine life up close

Fly in a hot-air balloon

Go on a helicopter ride – Completed February 2017

Jump from a cliff into deep water

Swim in the infinity pool at Marina Bay Sands – Completed June 2019

Celebrate Carnival in Brazil

Have a travel story published in a magazine/newspaper /online – Completed March 2015

Visit the Eiffel Tower

See the Tesselaar Tulip Festival – Completed October 2014

Visit Japan during the cherry blossom season

See the Taj Mahal

Visit Burj Al Arab in Dubai

Visit The Eureka Skydeck 88 in Melbourne – Completed October 2014

Fly in a private plane

Ride the Puffing Billy in Melbourne – Completed November 2014

Visit the 12 Apostles in Victoria

Visit Werribbe Open Range Zoo in Melbourne

Visit Uluru

Visit Times Square

Visit the Brighton Beach Boxes in Brighton – Completed April 2016

Stay in an over water bungalow in Bora Bora

Go on a Cruise

See the Pyramids in Egypt

Take the family to the Snow – Completed July 2016

Fly First Class


Achieve my ideal weight (the magic number is in my head)

Run a successful business

Donate Blood

Be part of a Flash Mob

Go to a Masquerade Ball

Help someone fulfill a Bucket List Goal

Give Christmas Gift to under privileged kids
