Who and What is dish’d?

dish’d is a provider of high quality frozen meal solutions, available to experience online. Thoughtfully created by reputable chefs from around the world and at dish’d, they believe it starts with sourcing the best ingredients and respecting them to curate the most delicious meal solutions for the busy you.  In February 2014, one of Australia’s most experienced and highly regarded chef, Jacques Reymond, joined the team at dish’d.

dish’d is currently delivering to metro Victoria and New South Wales.  They have an introductory offer $30 free plus free delivery (when you spend $50) on your first order.  They also have value for money bundle offers for as little as $30.

I was very excited when I was given the opportunity to review some meals from dish’d.   dish’d has a range of high quality meals and desserts, all frozen to retain their nutritional and taste credentials, waiting to be enjoyed…. when you are.

I immediately jumped on their website and started going through their menu.  There are so many different meal options to choose from that I found it difficult to make a decision.  dish’d is a new and exciting way to experience delicious food from around the world in the comfort of your own home.

All you need to do is order online and it’s delivered to your door the next day.  How easy is that? My order was completed and I couldn’t wait for the delivery the next day.

The morning of the delivery I received a text message saying that my delivery was on board to be delivered between 8am and 5pm.  At about 4.30pm, it hadn’t been delivered yet, so I thought I would put in a call to the team at dish’d.  The staff were very polite and offered a call back immediately to see where the delivery was.  About 5 minutes later, I had the call back and delivery was just around the corner.  10 minutes later I received a text message saying my order was delivered.  I really love the service provided by dish’d.

Once I got home, my parcel was waiting for me.  I was so excited that I couldn’t open it quick enough.  The cool box contains dry ice to make sure your order stays frozen until 10pm on the day of delivery.

So you want to know what was in my order?  Here it is:

2 Raspberry Cheesecake Slices.

These were absolutely delicious.  I would recommend these over and over again.

Sea Bream with Vegetables.

This was a great portion size for a main meal.  I would definitely recommend this again.

Thai Vegetable Green Curry.

Great tasting dish.  I would of liked a little bit more curry though.  I’m a bit unsure if I would order this again.

6 Sorbet Tumblers.

Absolutely loved the Mango and Lemon. Wasn’t a fan of the raspberry.  I will still reorder these again.

Tropical Fruits En Papillote.

I loved the flavour in the fruits.  I would recommend this again.

Chimichurri Rice.

What a great as a side dish with meat.  I would definitely recommend it again.

Strawberry Swirl Gelato.

Ok so it didn’t even last a day in our house.  I guess that means order 2 next time??

Cherry Swirl Gelato.

Another sweet dish that didn’t last too long.  So I ordered one for husband and one for myself.  My husband didn’t get a chance to eat his.  Sorry hubby.  I would definitely order these again too.

Five Cheese Pizza.

A great entrée that was very tasty.  I would absolutely order this again especially if entertaining guests.

12 Chocolate Petits Fours.

Beautiful presentation and too good to share. These were delicious and another great dish to share whilst entertaining friends or family.

4 Country Vegetable Steam Bags.

The portion sizing was great and they tasted very fresh, although they were frozen.  Great to store in the freezer until you need them.  I would order these again.

4 Italian Vegetable Steam Bags.

Another great serving of vegies to store in your freezer.  I would also order these again.

Baby Baked Potatoes.

Great to accompany any meat dish with some vegies.  Team them up with the Italian Vegetable Steam Bags and some fish and you have one fantastic dish.  These were also great to store in the freezer to add with other meals.

Vegetable Lasagne.

I found this dish so so.  It didn’t please me nor I didn’t dislike it.  I probably wouldn’t order this again.  No reason really, it just didn’t appeal to me.

2 Chocolate Hazelnut Ganache Crepes.

YUMMY.  Served these up for breakfast in bed for my husband.  Okay so again, he didn’t get a chance to eat all of them because I had to taste them as well.  I would order these in a hurry again.

8 Peitis Croquantis Cremes Clacees.

In 5 words.  Can I have some more?  I absolutely loved these.  I would definitely reorder these.

My overall verdict on dish’d was that I was VERY impressed.  I have tasted food from other online stores before and they didn’t really stack up anywhere close to dish’d.  The food was not only packaged and presented beautifully but tasted really nice.  I was expecting some of the dishes to not have any flavours knowing that it was frozen.  I would highly recommend dish’d to everyone.  Delicious food, ready when you are.

Ice cream. I'd spend it on every single tub of ice cream they had - especially that cherry swirl gelato you order, that looks fabulous!

Love these kind of posts, as I had not heard of Dish'd before. The website is great and very easy to navigate. I would go very basic with a pizza and may the Prague chocolate gateau for a first order, and see how that works.

I'd purchase a range of pizzas and pastas, then make an Italian themed night for my kids. I'd dress up as a waiter/cook (complete with fake moustache) and take their order whilst giving them some facts about Italy. Learning in a fun way is always my aim :)
