The Marina Bay Sands Hotel Singapore is located approximately 20 minutes from Changi International Airport and is described as a must do when in Singapore.  Towering 57 stories over the city, with a length totalling more than 3 Olympic sized swimming pools, it is the largest in the world with that height.

The Marina Bay Sands is a huge hotel with more than 2500 rooms, a casino, multiple restaurants and bars and an incredible infinity swimming pool. With a large shopping centre attached to the resort, you don’t have to venture too far for some of Singapore’s finest shopping brands and culinary delights.

The Hotel complex is conveniently located within walking distance to many city attractions like the Waterfront Promenade, Gardens of the Bay, Cloud Forest, the Merlion and Helix Bridge.

At the top of the three 55 floor towers of this 5-star hotel is the world famous SkyPark, which has an infinity swimming pool, restaurants and viewing deck. With 360-degree views of Singapore, there is no better spot to take your camera and catch some magnificent memories, with a cocktail in hand.

Let’s just say that the infinity swimming pool at Marina Bay Sands has been on my bucket list for a very long time and what a way to celebrate my 40th Birthday.

THE FACILITIES

Infinity Pool

The Infinity Swimming Pool at Marina Bay Sands is probably one of the worlds most talked about and photographed swimming pools.  Relax in the world’s largest rooftop pool on level 57 while looking out over Singapore’s awe-inspiring city skyline.

Make sure you get there as early as possible to secure a poolside lounge chair as the pool area gets very full early in the morning.

The Infinity Swimming Pool is restricted to hotel guests only and cannot be accessed without a hotel key card.  Opening hours are from 6am to 11pm daily.  Hot Tip.  Between 3pm and 4 pm daily they clean the swimming pool, so they shut one pool down at a time (there are 2 separate pools for adults/kids and 1 adult only pool, so 3 in total) so the main pool opened becomes hectic between those times.

Poolside refreshments are available from 7am to 11pm. They include light snacks and a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.  Please note that when we were there, we waited some time to get our drinks as it was so busy.

DINING

The Marina Bay Sands in Singapore has over 80 restaurants, so no matter what your style and taste, it has something for everyone.

OUR THOUGHTS

We had a great time at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore.  We did have some issues with our room when we first got there as they placed us in the wrong room with an obstructed view.  They put us in the correct room that we booked the following day, so we missed one day of being in the right room which was very frustrating.

As it’s such a large hotel complex, you don’t get the one on one hospitality service with staff that you receive at the smaller ones, so if that doesn’t bother you, then book a stay.  It definitely was very pricy, but if you can afford the splurge, we recommend you at least experience it once.

Would we go back?  No, its one of those places that honestly is over rated and over priced.  Oh and did I mention the lifts? You have to wait for ages and most of the time they are full so there is alot of waiting around. We felt like just a number there and not a guest.  We would recommend you go at least one night to experience the uniqueness of it (and to say you have been there, done that), but other than that, for us, we wont be back in a hurry, if so ever.
