Singapore Zoo is one of the top family attractions in Singapore and is located approximately 30 minutes from Changi International Airport.  The Singapore Zoo, formerly known as the Singapore Zoological Gardens or Mandai Zoo, occupies 28 hectares on the margins of Upper Seletar Reservoir within Singapore’s heavily forested central catchment area.

Home to more than 300 species of mammals, birds and reptiles, 34 per cent of which are threatened, the Zoo has attained a strong reputation internationally for its conservation initiatives and breeding programs.

The best thing about Singapore Zoo is that it has an open exhibit policy, which means there are hidden barriers, moats and glass between the animals and visitors, giving you an intimate encounter with some of the animals.

OUR THOUGHTS

Our family had a wonderful time at Singapore Zoo.  There are so many animals to see in their natural habitat and it is one of the best zoos we have visited so far.  We highly recommend you bring your family to check out this top attraction.

We would like to thank Singapore Zoo for hosting our visit and as always, we would never recommend a service or product that we didn’t honestly enjoy.

RIVER SAFARI

River Safari is located next to Singapore Zoo and is a river themed and aquarium zoo. It is built over 12 hectares and nestled between its two counterparts, the Singapore Zoo and the Night Safari, Singapore. It is the first of its kind in Asia and features freshwater exhibits and a river boat ride as its main highlights.

At the river Safari, they have two different boat rides – the Reservoir Cruise and the Amazon River Quest.   The Reservoir Cruise will take you along the outskirts of Singapore Zoo and the Night Safari compound giving visitors a chance to see animals such as Asian elephants and giraffes.

The Amazon River Quest offers a more exciting experience as you can observe animals while sitting in a log boat.  It’s a great ride for the little kids.
