Are you looking to step back in time to the Jurassic ages of the Dinosaurs? If so, then look no further than the Megasaurus Park which is located in Cranbourne East’s Livingstone Estate which is about a 45 minute drive south east of Melbourne City. The park is completely inspired by pre-historic dinosaurs and will keep your kids entertained for hours.
The main feature of the park is the brontosaurus dinosaur structure which has an impressive flying fox built in which flies along about 25 metres or so. It took a couple of attempts before my four year old daughter was confident to go on her own, but after a few goes with tears, tantrums and yelling, she finally did it and was so proud of herself.
The park also includes a 20 metre long skeletal dinosaur climbing frame incorporating climbing nets, an AstroTurf covered slide, a pterodactyl basket swing with beautiful steel feathers which doubles as a cool cubby house and climbing plates of a stegosaurus which have climbing holds that make a variety of noises.
There is a picnic shelter with three tables, BBQ, water tap, unshaded seats and a big grassy area next to the playground to kick the footy or a soccer ball around. Please be aware that there are NO toilets at this park. Don’t forget to search the park for the dinosaur nest and eggs which are hidden amongst the rocks. Happy Dinosauring…..
