Crown Promenade is described as one of the premier luxury hotels in Melbourne. It’s conveniently located in the Southbank precinct and is directly linked to the Crown Complex. The Crown complex has various casual and fine dining restaurants, bars, shops, movie cinema and its own Casino.
I was looking forward to our stay at the Crown Promenade over the Queen’s Birthday long weekend. I managed to book a fantastic deal which included overnight stay in a King Standard Room, valet parking, breakfast for two at Mesh, in room movie with popcorn and complimentary baby cot.
As we drove into the Crown Promenade, the valet parking attendant welcomed us with a smile and kindly unloaded our entire luggage for us. We were then greeted at check-in by very friendly helpful staff, who gave us a brief overview of the hotel and complex.
We then made our way to our King Standard room and were pleasantly surprised to see how spacious the rooms were. As we were on the 14th floor we had fabulous views over the river and Melbourne City.
Some of the in room features included large desk area, in-house movies, tea and coffee facilities, heating and cooling, gorgeous ottoman window seat, 42 inch flat screen TV, Pay TV, floor to ceiling windows which provides excellent views and fully stocked mini bar.
The bathroom was sparkling marble and ultra-modern in design with a fabulous spacious shower but unfortunately they had no bath.
One of our usual requests is a baby port a cot. The hotel staff brought it up to the room very promptly along with a portable baby bath and baby products, which I thought was very thoughtful.
I really appreciated the complimentary champagne and chocolates that was sent to our room as I had earlier mentioned to the hotel receptionist that we were here for my husband’s birthday.
The Deck leisure facilities were fantastic and well maintained. The large indoor infinity pool and spa were great and the water temperature was warm considering it was so cold outside. The view while in the pool was fantastic looking out onto the Casino area and was beautifully lit up in the evening. The pool did however get a little busy and overcrowded around 5pm. The gym area was very impressive with the latest equipment that I did NOT test out as I was on a relaxing stay.
Swimming Pool image courtesy of Crown Promenade. It was very busy while I was there and i did not take a photo as there were a lot of children swimming due to privacy reasons.
Breakfast was at Mesh Restaurant. The extensive buffet breakfast was amazing. It catered for all types. It consisted of a variety of breakfast cereals, traditional eggs, bacon, sausages and mushrooms through to cold meats, cheese and fruit platters to the most amazing pastries. There is also a chef making fresh omelettes and eggs while you waited. We left breakfast feeling very full and satisfied and definitely decided on a walk into the city to burn it all off.
Overall, I had a great stay and I have no hesitation in booking to stay at Crown Promenade again.
I stayed as a paying guest at The Crown Promenade and my opinion is definitely my own.
