What could be better than enjoying the Father’s Day weekend in a beautiful apartment in the Docklands?

I decided to book into the Sebel Serviced Apartments located at New Quay because of the gorgeous waterfront location.

Our luxury 1 Bedroom Waterview Apartment was just that.  Very luxurious and in a great spot.  The apartment includes a spacious lounge and dining area with LCD television with Foxtel and DVD player, fully equipped self catering immaculate kitchen with European appliances, a well-appointed bathroom, air-conditioning and private balcony overlooking the water.

The Sebel is designed as an “outdoor gallery” and is filled with fantastic urban art.  The Sebel lounge is located on the first floor and consists of boardroom facilities, movie cinema and lounge.  The space is a very unique area, filled with great art and amazing sitting areas.

The state of the art indoor swimming pool, spa and gymnasium were fantastic.

The Sebel has parking for a fee of $20.00 per day and as it’s a multi level carpark, the staff actually allocates your parking spot on the same level as your room which is very considerate.  Not too far to drag all your luggage as there’s no bellmen to handle this for you.

Verdict:

I really enjoyed our time at The Sebel Docklands.  The location is perfect if you want to explore the Harbour Town Shopping Precinct and Wonderland Fun Park.  It’s also a short stroll to New Quay offering a variety of restaurants, cafes and bars.

There are a couple of negatives that I would like to let you know.  Firstly and most importantly if you are going to use the swimming pool either bring your own towel or double check with reception if they will give you extra for the pool.  We took ours from our bathroom as we didn’t see any down at the pool and then we noticed the big sign saying “We don’t give towels for the pool due to hygiene”???  Isn’t it the same for the ones they leave in your hotel room???

My second gripe was that the TV in the bedroom wasn’t the best.  The main television in the lounge room has Foxtel, but the one in the bedroom didn’t, that wasn’t the problem though.  It only had normal free to air channels which was okay but the volume kept dropping out so it sounded like they were stuttering.  Not great if you want to lie in bed and watch movies.

There are no restaurants, café or bar in the hotel, but there is a variety just outside the hotel.

So overall, I would definitely come back again as I did enjoy myself and the rooms are beautiful, but I would just remember to ask for extra towels for the swimming pool.

I stayed as a paying guest at The Sebel Docklands, and my opinion is definitely my own.
